In the article, the International Human Rights Group (IHRG) raises an interesting observation - that the German government may be trying to shut down the homeschooling movement before it starts. With unknown statistics about the number of families pursuing this pedagogy it is hard to to ponder whether it has already reached a point of no return. Or if it can still be controlled using heavy-handed techniques such as the fines, amercements and incarcerations that the German authorities are currently employing with increasing gusto.
It looks as if only 2 weeks worth of shows are kept on the CBN Media Center front page.

The Status Quo
For those new to the situation in Germany: home educating is (perceived as) illegal.
The common citation for school attendance is to protect against a pluralist society. I'd like to explore the various arguments for (and against) legalising home education in Germany.
It is my sincere hope that this information may help people internationally to lobby for change on behalf of those who want to or are trying to exercise their human right to raise their children the way they choose to.
