Making out is normal, Mr Gorber

If you need another reason to get behind the Gorber family and fight for them to have their children returned try this:

The 12 year old daughter Thea, if not returned home to her own parents before or at this hearing, will be sent on camp. So okay, this doesn't seem like a biggie, but what is meant by this is that Thea will overnight in a tent where she is the only girl among 'wayward' boys.

Lets explore that concept.....wayward boys: not able to be controlled; who are already in a child 'welfare' home for a real reason; boys are usually physically stronger; boys tend towards gang mentality - survival of the fittest; boys who have access to her personal possessions while there. I would not want my 12 year old daughter in a situation like this nor anywhere sleeping over that I did not know a child's parents.

Mr Gorber is understandably very concerned, but the supervisor has said these arrangements aren't a problem as "making out is allowed, and nothing more will happen". Thats tough for parents that believe in sexual expression inside marriage and not before and want to protect their children from abuse.

To get their children back, the parents have already complied with the demand that they register their children in school albeit in the neighbouring town, but the authorities have not accepted this. The experts are saying that the 3 girls need to go to a special school instead.

Thea is the only one being sent to high school (Gymnasium). Although because she wants to spend time with her siblings she doesn't want to go, and be away from them the whole day. They have a strong bond.

And now it looks as if the 3 year old boy, David, will be separated from his siblings - as if once is not enough.

Thanks again to the Busekros family for the update.

Please ask for the complete custody to be returned to the parents along with the children.

Of course I would like to see them continue to educate their children at home as well! They have done it successfully for 10 years already.

So folks we have until the 29th to get moving and email the powers that be.

The Status Quo

For those new to the situation in Germany: home educating is (perceived as) illegal.

The common citation for school attendance is to protect against a pluralist society. I'd like to explore the various arguments for (and against) legalising home education in Germany.

It is my sincere hope that this information may help people internationally to lobby for change on behalf of those who want to or are trying to exercise their human right to raise their children the way they choose to.

Please join me in gathering facts, studies and quotes and add them to this blog.
