Support Freedom in Education in Germany

Many have asked how to financially support the campaign for homeschooling in Germany. While I first and foremost advocate putting pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard, making a donation supports the work of a united group of people within the country of Germany itself and seeks to cover their costs. To this end, I have added a Paypal button to the side bar for Germany's umbrella organisation for homeschooling - Netzwerk Bildungsfreiheit (Network for Freedom in Education).

Netzwerk Bildungsfreiheit was formed in 2006 as a response to the coming visit of the United Nations Special Rapporteur, Vernor Muñoz. Various groups and individuals came together to make a presentation about the state of home education and the violation of human rights in conjunction with education in Germany. Mr Muñoz was available to accept submissions and made his recommendations to the Federal Government in favour of allowing homeschooling.

I think you know that this has been more than ignored.

Anyway for those wanting to visit Paypal here are a few tips.

Enter the amount at the top.

You will be asked to either log-in (right hand side) or register (left hand side).

The Status Quo

For those new to the situation in Germany: home educating is (perceived as) illegal.

The common citation for forced school attendance is to protect against parallel societies.

Educating Germany discusses arguments for (and against) legalising home education in Germany.

We report on human rights violations; provide translations of media articles, interviews, court hearings and personal stories into English; and suggest practical ways people, internationally, can lobby for change and support those who long for freedom of education.
