Remember your local library and also the German Consulate or Embassy. Either may have books, videos and other media to borrow.

There may be a local german group that meets or would come and talk to the child/ren?

Perhaps there is a german or european bakery or butchery you can take the child/ren to?

And then there is internet radio or music to listen to.

(These came from a home schooling family in Germany)
Traditional christian songs
or more contemporary (ie english)

Or You-tube (Wir sind Helden)
This is a modern band and typically german

Or MfG

And my friend sent me this one back about a language course, phrases and vocabulary.

The Status Quo

For those new to the situation in Germany: home educating is (perceived as) illegal.

The common citation for school attendance is to protect against a pluralist society. I'd like to explore the various arguments for (and against) legalising home education in Germany.

It is my sincere hope that this information may help people internationally to lobby for change on behalf of those who want to or are trying to exercise their human right to raise their children the way they choose to.

Please join me in gathering facts, studies and quotes and add them to this blog.
